Environment: freshwater

Origin: Channa marulioides (Emperor Snakehead) is found in rivers in southeastern Sumatra, Kapuas basin of western Kalimantan

Temperament: Aggressive

Company: Channa marulioides (Emperor Snakehead) should be kept with species smaller then the snakeheads size.

Water parameters: Temperature 22-28˚C / 72-82˚ F; pH 6-7.5

Aquarium setup: Channa marulioides (Emperor Snakehead) is best kept in a pond or a very big aquarium. The aquarium should be decorated so that there are a lot of open areas for swimming and some hiding places. Plants are recommendable and might be needed for breeding. This species need surface access to survive.

Feeding: Will like most other snakeheads eat almost any meaty food you give them or can be trained to do so.

Breeding: Channa marulioides (Emperor Snakehead) is believed to build a nest among plants and guard the eggs and nest. However we have no confirmed information.
