Temperament: Red-Tail Barracuda (Acestrorhynchus altus) is surprisingly not aggressive. Does not appreciate aggressive tank mates. Red-Tail Barracuda (Acestrorhynchus altus) is a jumper and a well-covered aquarium is a necessity.

Company: Red-Tail Barracuda (Acestrorhynchus altus) can be kept with anything able to hold its own, but nothing too aggressive.

Aquarium Setup: Red-Tail Barracuda (Acestrorhynchus altus) should be kept in a large tank, at least 50 gallons / 200L. Needs lots of swimming room around top of tank, but a few plants are appreciated.

Feeding: live food. Red-Tail Barracuda (Acestrorhynchus altus)  can be trained to eat prepared foods, but will take a while.

Breeding: No recordings of successful breeding in home aquaria.
