Origin: Auchenoglanis biscutatus  originates from Africa; Nigeria Rivers, Nile, Chad, Senegal, Gambia, and Niger.

Temperament: Auchenoglanis biscutatus is a predatory catfish but is generally not too aggressive towards species that are too big to eat. You should, however, think about these fish as peaceful fish.

Company: Auchenoglanis biscutatus  can be kept with any fish able to hold its own and too big to eat.

Water Parameters: pH 7-8 , temperature 24-26 ° C / 75-79 ° F

Aquarium Setup: Auchenoglanis biscutatus does best in a loosely planted tank with sand bottom. They can, however, be successfully kept in most setups.  They appreciate a hiding place big enough for this large species. Only suitable for large aquariums.

Feeding: Predatory. Auchenoglanis biscutatus prefers live foods, i.e., feeder goldfish, crawfish. Prepared and frozen foods will be accepted. Avoid giving them too much goldfish feeders as these are very poor in nutrients.

Breeding: Not recorded in home aquaria.
