Scottish Terrier Resources
The Scottish Terrier is one of five terrier breeds from Scotland, and it is believed to be the oldest of the Highland terriers. The Scottish Terrier – also known as the Aberdeen Terrier – was nicknamed "little diehard" by George, the fourth Earl of Dumbarton. It is also lovingly referred to as the Scottie. The Scottish Terrier is a quick and feisty dog with loads of energy. It is also very independent and can be really stubborn. Early obedience training is recommended and you need to be patient and persistent. The Scottish Terrier was originally bred to hunt small vermin, such as rats, mice, squirrels and foxes. If you let your Scottish Terrier roam free in your yard it might catch rats and other pests. You can read more about the Scottish Terrier in the resources listed below.
