I don't test for chlorine specifically... I can smell and taste it from the tap. I know carbon will remove it. The rest of the tanks I use an API kit.

I have city water and it's not very nice water. I've added a house carbon filter between my tap and my Python. They're not very expensive (think I dropped $60 on the can, filter can, and plumbing....
