Hi new to owning a aquarium. We haves 100 gallon tank and a very aggressive Pseudotropheus demasoni. We want to get rid of him but don't know what he is worth or even who to sell him to. Any info would be great.

demasoni are a dwarf cichlid, are you sure thats what you have? tops i've seen them get around 5".

You sure its not an elongatus?

From what I've been reading, males get about 4" and females about 3 1/2" so Smokey might be correct here.

But if you're wanting to get rid of him, perhaps the fish store will take him in as a credit or just take him off your hands if wanting to get rid of him.

I have about 50 demasoni and I've had several of them for more than a few years, I'm almost positive you have an elongatus due to the fact that they look very similar just without the really thick black bars. elongatus have thinner bars.

You can easily trade them in for store credit at a Local fish store, not petsmart or petco. good luck!

He has thick bars. Can I email someone a picture or video? My iPad won't upload to here.

Based on picture and video, what type and size fish can we have in there? Thanks for the help. I've always wanted an aquarium. Now, what do to with 100 gallon tank?? I don't want to keep buying fish for him to eat. You said you had one. Is your aggressive?

Mine is mellow as hell but I raised him in a tank of predators that dwarfed him, 20" fish that would have been happy to eat him if they were hungry enough.

Now I have him in a 125g mixed african cichlid tank with dwarf cichlids (i do not suggest that, especially if he's aggressive), venstus, red top cichlid, most peacocks, elongatus, i have two cigar sharks and a few pleco's in there.

Is the Frontosa the bigger fish towards the bottom of the tank in your pics Smokey? In the 2nd pic what kind of fish is above him and to the left? The one with the little spots on its tail? Then to the left of the spotty tail? The one that you can't see his face with the leopard type spots? I think I'm in love!!:1luvu:

No hi-jack intended of this post!! :11:

The frontosa is the big blue one at the bottom and the one to left is a jack dempsey. :)
