nice size tank, to begin with. you could keep most type of goldfish.

or you could keep livebeaers, such as guppys, swordtails , platys or mollies.

or you could have some white cloud, cherry barbs and more, just to name a few.

what kinds of fish had you been thinging about getting.? then we might be able to give you better advice.

What size tank is a 5 ft x 36"? A 55, 75, and 90 are all 4 ft tanks and the 100 gallon is 6 ft. Is it a custom made? It should make you a nice tank, regardless, and you should be able to have a big community tank, a cichlid tank or 3 or 4 large fish in that tank.

How tall is the tank?

That tank can be used for any type of fish, except for the 'monster' fish species...

Decide what kind of tank you'd like the most and go from there. Don't 'settle' for a tank you don't really want.

I would suggest a nice community tank for a beginner. Lots of choices, lots of different tetras, platys, swordtails, etc.
