I have made some changes to the repuatation system to hopefully get it to be used more.

You will now give more rep each time you give rep. Exactly how much rep you give depends on how long you been a member, how many posts you have and how much rep you have.

I have also reduced the number of users you need to give rep to before you can give to same user and the number of posts new members need before they can use the rep system.

Sounds great! Looks like we can now see a LOT more of the people who give us rep points as well. I used to only be able to see 5 or 6 now I see LOTS more.

Thank you. I had been wondering people seemed to be giving a lot less rep.

dang, I just got one hit from a certain well-known forumer that added like 50% to my total pool of reputation.

How can add the percent you wanna give? I never knew that.

You can only give your full amount of rep points but you can increase it by posting post, earning rep and just staying around.

How about a feature for negative rep when really blatantly bad advice is given?

the ability to award negative rep opens up a whole big can of worms. Personally, I'm against it. I can only remember a few times since I've been here that someone has really been spouting off terrible advice, and generally that person gets banned pretty quickly.

I'm also against it. Then people would be giving others bad rep even if there are 2 opinions that would both work. Or people would just not like someone's username or whatever and give them bad rep.

Bad rep leads to bad blood, just not a good idea.

I see it as a balancing tool, because I've seen downright awful advice on more than a few occasions. But whatev...

I remember when bad rep was an option. As soon as I gave someone bad rep, they just returned the favor.

I think it should be an option, but it can't happen due to the childish games people play on forums.

thanks for the update, William.

Should make folks appreciate the people who have piles of rep, tho, they got it the hard way, lol.

I agree that a 'kick me' is way more effective than negatitve rep points. Good job on the change Willy!

I was against the bad rep button, too.

I got bad rep from someone because I said I didn't like cats! Not "I want to kill every cat I see". That's rather taking things from getting bad rep for bad advice to just taking things personal.

I still don't like cats. LOL

How am I supposed to by Hobbs a cat gift if we don't have one??? Can someone get on that ASAP please...

Lady Hobbs

LOL Everytime someone mentions "cat" all I can think of is the $750 it cost me at the vet on a cat I had that couldn't poop. And after spending the money, the cat had to be put to sleep. They should offer a refund on dead cats! I could have bought a nice fish tank for that.

If someone can make a 'cat poop' gift, that will do also....
