I have 3 tiger barbs and when i feed them the do not rise to the top to eat the food. should i be worried about this? they do eat some of the food that sinks down to the bottom.

What size tank? What tank mates? How long have you had them?

Do a 80-90% water change and raise the temp to at least 80" tigers love heat.
Any signs of disease?:11:

that seems a little premature without knowing what all is in the tank, isn't it?

Agreed. If given an option, my TBs most like to eat food as it is sinking, and not off the top.

Try taking a small pinch of flakes and let them go under the surface and watch as they sink.

are there any other symptoms? from what you have told us so far it seems like they just aren't hungry. how much and how often do you feed them? many fish when fed very well everyday will get lethargic. if there are no other symptoms other than not interested in food, try not feeding them for a couple of days. then feed them a small pinch of food and see how they react.

LH, that would be a shock depending on what temp there at. 90%? Mine arent surface eaters either.

Considering the OPs other thread, its possible the tank isn't cycled yet...?

I say bump up the temp to about 80 as well. TBs just seem to do better in warmer waters, IME.

Tiger's not eating would be extremely strange. Mine atleast will go after anything that hits the water, before or after it sinks. Hell I've seen them competing with my clowns for things that they dig up.

if you only have 2 or 3 they could be depressed, they like big groups. try feeding them different food, maybe sinking pellets also try feeding them life or frozen food- my tiger barbs loved brine shrimp. hope this helps.
