I frequently have to go to one of two near by storm water drains which home thousands of mosquito fish and i must catch them for the barramundi, severum and oscar i own the drain pipe is about 2 and half feet high and further into the pipe thats were the larger mosquito fish are so i ventured up and to my amazement while i was scooping fish i heard in a smaller pipe that was to dark to see a loud pop as if an oscar snapped a fishthen alot of mosquito fish came swimming out and following them was a large fish about 10" which is big compared to what im use to catching down there and william told me that there is australian arowana and i was unaware but that is exactly what this mistery fish looked liked and strangley its stuck in a drain, it swum away quickly when it saw me but i plan to catch it as a pet since it aint going no where to soon.

Sorry for sharing that long pointless story with u but i was just excited that i know what the fish is if i do catch it i will show you some pics

Yes. Arowanas are rether aggressive and is often kept with Oscars. It is however always good to keep an eye for problems that might araise in any setup.

Thats good. It wouldn't be a proble if the Arowana was larger than your Oscar either.

You would soon need to get a much larger tank.
what gallon is a six footer anyway.

it varies form 125 gallons to over 200 gallons, thats why there is no point in saying 4 footer or six footer, the actual tank size needs to be specified. ideally even with actual dimensions as many tank sizes can come in multiple shapes of varying dimensions. i do not think you should get the arowana, i just dont think it will work.

you might want some bottom feeders like a Synodontis spp. in there, and maybe a larger school of silver dollars, schools should be at least 6.

not sure what type of filter it is called but ill find out also it is 260 gallons, when i first get the tank for a while it will just be the two oscars until the other fish grow im buying all the gravel, gravel filters, heater, all the essentials before adding anymore fish

i was not planning on undergravel filteration this filter is one that take up another 2 foot tank and sitts under the 6 footer it sucks the water out puts it through the 2 footer then puts the cleaned water back into the tank and no it does not come with a filter to my knowledge

for that sized tank you may want to look into the fluval FX5.
