So I've upgraded my tank and I now have a pair of silvers that I got as a pair in my new 125 gallon tank. One is about 9 inches and the about 5 and they do not fight at all. Can I add an African Arowana to my tank that is about 5 inches? I read that the African are not very aggressive and will not fight with my Silvers, is this true?

African arowana is very rare. You sure you're not thinking asian or australian arowana? Also, I would not put any other aros in your tank. The 2 you have now will outgrow that tank in no time.

BTW, an african arowana should look like this..

Agreed with Crispy. Once they start growing you'll already need a larger tank for the 2 you have. Adding a third would be irresponsible. Start saving up now for the larger tank you'll need.

I also agree with the other two.
Have you read these yet?

A 6ftx2ft footprint is a good size grow out tank for arowanas.

I wouldn't mix Aro species, even if there were claims of them being compatible. Do you plan to upgrade the tank in the future? If you really want the three I'd actually start building them a covered or indoor pond.

Your Silver Aros are still way too small to know if they will fight or not. Africans can also be tricky to keep...i wouldn't recommend getting him either.
