He is about 7 inches, in a 60 gallon tank with only two plecos. I used to feed him crickets and superworms but im trying to get him on sticks and shrimp now.

I attempt to feed him 2 or 3 times a day, but with no success.

So all he eats is crickets and superworms, superworms is great, mine will not eat them, i think he is scared of them. What i had to do, and i did this every week for about 3 weeks, is i would let him go about 2 days with no food, then try taking the food of your choice and pinch it between your thumb and index finger barely into the water, he should be interested, mine would swim up and lunge at it and miss it but he was trying finally this time today i tried a piece of tilapia fillet cut into a sliver and he took it from my hand very aggressively. it had been 2 days since he had eaten.

I've been bitten by mine while handfeeding. It drew blood, but nothing serious. Wasn't his fault. he was just trying to eat. :) I will be very cautious though when he is over 2ft. They do have teeth and a bony tongue which I believe also has small teeth on it.

Bennifer> have you tried a fresh fish fillet? Tilapia, rainbow trout, yellow perch, there a ton around the market and you can always keep variety. Just cut 'em in bite sized strips and dangle them into the water. 2 weeks is enough time to give in and let your aro win this round I think. He needs to start eating again. You can always try sticks again in the future.

Hybridguy> Good to see your aro taking fillets. Mine goes beserk for them now and it really does wonders for his growth. :fish:
