Well update mania might have lost some pace but I will keep that name on the update threads until I have done everything I planned to do in two weeks:hmm3grin2orange:

This update is due to popular demand. You can now submit profiles by filling in the form on http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/submit/profile.php

Try to fill in all fields but if you miss one or two I migth be able to fill those in. If you submit several profiles each needs to be unique. Even if you submit several species that can be cared for in the same way you can't copy paste the same text into both fields. You need to write a different text for each. You can enter however much text you want in each field. More text is always better as long as it is relevant.

You must write the profiles yourself. You are not allowed to copy them from other websites due to copyright rules.

For every profile you submit through this system and get approved you will recieve 5000 AC points and 200 rep points.

We need a lot of profiles on common and not so common species so I am sure you can all find something to write a profile about.

Im happy about this, makes stuff a little easier on Will and the article writers.

As always, If you want to produce a list of species you need, I'll knock out quite a few

William
06-02-2009, 07:10 PM
I will try to produce a list. Do you guys want a short list or a LOOOOOOONG List

I am considering to publish a list each month and give double the amount of ac and rep points to those who make those profiles during that month.

I want a long list, because I have done most of my fish in my tanks :)
I will do some killie fish one, but do you want me to make one for one certain killies, or group a whole bunch of them together.
Like garderni is a whole group, and then striatum as one?

Wild Turkey

It is bets if you do one for each species. If you want to do entire groups it is better that you write articles. Articles need to be atleast 250 words long.

If you make each species. Remember that you have to rephrase the care etc on each proifle even if they are the same on all species.

That brings up another question, probably best answered in pms but you have probably gotten plenty of those

Can i submit an article for publishing that was originally published in appropriate topic on the forum instead of submitted as an article?

Something else i thought of while typing this one out: (sorry for all the questions! lol)

What if we want add to an existing article/profile? After all the hobby, and peoples opinions both change constantly

William

Recieved Marbled Crayfish.

WT: If you want to suggest an article you published on the forum to be published in the article section please send me a PM with the url to the article and I will look at it.

It is okay to copy from something you published on the forum to one profile (only one, if you write several you have to rewrite the text for the others) if the article only been published on this forum and have not been published in the content section of the site.

I will add a function to suggest additions to the existing profiles. Until then you can PM me with addition.

Ok that clears it up. I can suggest other peoples posted articles for publishing, not just my own though right?

I only have one I have written in mind, where as some other users....well...almost all of their articles should be published and theres quite a fewthumbs2:

Can we use pictures from the gallery?

And if you're not as confident in your writting ability can it be proofread somehow?

William
06-02-2009, 08:56 PM
All profiles will be proofed. By one or several persons. And I reserve the right to edit in them and to add more data.

If you want to use pictures from the gallery.Send a pm to the person who asked them and ask if it is okay if they haven't allready said so in the AC can use my pics thread.
