Hi all,

I was reading an article that mentioned ghost shrimp needing iodine to complete their molt (not sure where this was online now). Does anyone know about this? If so, would I need to add iodine somehow to my tank? I have livebearers (platies & guppies) in with the shrimp.

Thanks!

Im not sure about the need for it. But some marine aquarists add iodine supplements in their tanks.

True, most people do add salt in their tank. Someone posted in one of my other threads just recently that he/she successfully had shrimp breed in their completely freshwater tank, no salt.

So apparently I'd say that they don't.
