Dont worry hes a catfish when he gets hungry he will eat, could be what you feed, could be other fish in the tank, but he will eat. I had an albino years ago, he would come to the surface and eat floating pellets. Try feeding him some sinking pellets tonight after lights out.

If it is 5.5" I wouldn't worry after 2 days, after 2 weeks start thinking of a plan.

And how do you know he is swimming around hungry, did he tell you? lol

Wait until tonight or even friday night and try again. Don't keep just throwing in food you will foul your water if it is just sitting around.

Most nocturnal fish prefer to eat after lights out.My pleco won't eat until the room is blacked out as well!
It will eat when it gets hungry enough!
2 days is nothing bu have you checked your perameters yet?

Forget test strips and get some liquid indicator solutions for testing water. The strips are notoriously inaccurate. basically a waste of money. Most shops will test a water sample for free if you take it to them.

For now you can take a sample of your water to your lfs and have them test it for you.Test strips are better then nothing but not as accurate as liquid tests.

Well you really do need to be able to check the water, but 2 days is not a real big concern, he could be snacking on things that you just dont see too. Maybe try some zuchinni, or bloodworms in a few days. They are scavengers so they can go for a bit with no food and be just fine.

I agree with the earthworms... wiggle one infront of his face and he'll swallow it.
Try it at night or in the early morning and he should eat.

He will eat when ready. He may just be acting fussy.
Still keep an eye on him in case something develops.

Channel cats are predatory fish, they won't eat veggies. Live earthworms or guppies should stimulate a response.
