I had a 20 Gallon tank for my shrimp. I had some moss in it, however the moss took over the entire tank. I have given away 9/10ths of the moss. This is the old 20. There are still a few shrimp in it:

I've moved recently and all the moss has started dieing. Thus the color of the water and the reason I gave most of it away. I guess the tank doesn't get as much sunlight as it use to.

I've replaced the above tank with a 30G with an RUGF. This keeps the food and what not above the ground for longer durations. This tank has minimal planting.

The hood and UGF were given to me from freecycle. The tank cost me $40. The Reverse Flow kit and Powerhead cost $30.

The shrimp were purchased from here (http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/aquariumforum/showthread.php?t=11418).
