I have an unheated 37 gal. goldfish tank that I would love to add a pleco to, but I am not sure if one can handle the low temperature. Right now the tank is at 74 degrees, but it is June. I'm worried that when winter comes and the tank is 68 degrees, can a pleco handle it? Any advice?

There are no plecs I can think of that can handle the lowere temps. There are some cold water fish that eat algae.I am not familiar with coldwater fish to any great extent so hopefully someone who is can tell you which kinds.

Rubberlip Plecs would be great. They are native to the cool, mountain waters of the Andes mountains. They can handle cooler temps just fine.

Excellent, a Rubberlip Plecs - I am going to see if my local fish store has one or can get me one. Thank you!:c3:
