I assume you're talking about a kuhlii loach... Not a good idea to put 1 in there. They need company to feel safe, and should be at least 3 together, but preferably 5 or more. And from what I heard about BGK they are not peaceful, they are predators who are likely to kill everything in the tank if it's having a bad day.

i have a BGK in one of my tanks at the moment and it isnt that aggressive. i do agree with them needing company though (i wasnt thinking that well last night- was drinking again :(!!!). in a 4 ft tank though you should be able to put a few in there right?

I had 1 khuli and thought it died, never saw it. Bought 3 a couple months later, and all the sudden i had 4 all the time! no more hiding when in the company of like species.

lol, i can see the kuhlis sitting in a corner huddled up whispering to each other " who are these new guys? and what are they doing in OUR tank?"

I just have to remember that there is 3 more very active mouths to feed when giving the algae wafers. Maybe the yoyos are not sharing!

yeah, they might be a bit bossy towards your kuhlis. when i feed my fish everyone else eats and then about 20 mins later my kuhlis come out to forage. i think mine are slow so i feed a bit extra when i see them, maybe yours maybe slow too?

Mine arent that slow, sometimes they lounge hammock style in the plant stems, and when they smell a wafer, you know it! those guys dont give up until they find it, and when they do, other fish pecking at it doesnt phase them, but i dont know if its that way for the yoyos yet . . .

i seem to have a bit better luck with clowns, although the last one i got 2 mths back died within a week - but im sure it was the pet shops fault as most fish from there die easily. i try not to buy from there now. i have 3 clowns at the moment and they seem to be going well. they are going to town on my snail population though!!!!! :19: :19: :19:

i have found this out from my experiences with clowns... try and get the biggest ones you can find and afford, the smaller ones seem to be rather delicate and more suseptible to not making it in the long run. this is what ive found out anyways :c3:
