Are they any fish that can be with them that will not eat them? I gather shrimp are supposed to be in a tank alone?

Which tank do you plan on putting them in?

I planned to put them in my 20 gallon with my golden tetra's and black neon's but have since heard the shrimp would be eaten. So......I guess I will have to move the fish out and put them in the 55 with my other community fish.

I don't think you will have problems with those fish.

Just monitor the fish and number of shrimp for a week or two really closely. If you notice fat fish, or missing shrimp, then it might be time to take action.

Also RCS are extremely susceptible to nitrate poisoning, so large frequent waterchanges are a must, not that you don't do those already.

Thanks for the heads up. Normally my nitrates are really low anyway but I dose nitrates for the plants. Perhaps I should not do that?

I miss lucky... That ghost shrimp was in my 55 gallon with my Oscars for 5 months lol before I got him eaten.. man I felt like a jerk that day..lol...

killies have voracious appetites and will eat anything they can catch, I saw one eat an oto that was only slightly smaller, at least it tried to, it choked to death:18:

I have ghost shrimp in my 20g and 10g, they live with gouramis, swordtails, neon tetras, a raphael and syno cat. The gourami (gold) initially pecked at them but after a bit gave up on them. So far I havent lost any to the fish.

I'd expect that to work fine Lady. I've not known Gold Tetras or Black Neons to bother shrimp of any kind. RCS do look rather stunning in a well planted tank all by themselves though.
