I am getting my Cherry shrimp in a week, but I have a question. Do I need to use iodine?

And also, do they like to be in groups? Will 4-5 be enough? If they are only a dollar or 2, I will get 8-10, but if they are 5-6 dollars, I am only getting 4-5.

they like to be in colonies, generally i think the rule is one shrimp per gallon, if there is not enough food for them they will kill each other.
i have 3 glass shrimp in my 10g and they are doing very well, the two females sometimes fight, so i am guessing they like to establish territories.
i also have a singapore wood shrimp
and one or two algae eating blue shrimp, i got three, but i read most die after a week or two and i only see one most of the time.
i am pretty sure they like drift wood, plants and java moss thats where i see them hanging out the most.
they don't need iodine if you have hard water.
and if you see little shrimp bits floating around don't freak out they do molt. (i freaked out at first, esp. when my wood shrimp was bright red and not active, then when i looked around my tank there was a huge molt right next to him.)
