Well it's been a while since I've been on here but I had to say I've got a "gibby" that's what the guy at the pet store called him, very cool! Next to my common he looks miniscule (not in the same tank of course)!

Thanks Dave. I know I've got a common with my american's and he's pretty damn massive, but I couldn't resist he was such a gorgeous fish. By the time he's that big I should've save enough. lol (I HOPE)!

Hi Juannie!
Glad you posted on this, I had only ever been told they were a "gibby" too! Must be an aussie thing!
I was thinking of getting one to put in my tank with my oscar and my silver dollars, thought he'd help keep the algae away. (where the tank is gets a bit of sun)
Didn't realise that they got that big though, thanks Dave!

Hi Fraggle, they get absolutely massive, my common pleco is in with my oscar, jaguar and brasiliensis, he just pushes them around if they have a go. They are such beautiful fish if you don't mind the poos, water changes help immensley.
