I got a new betta male today as Helios passed on about 3 months shy of 2 years.

It's not the best picture of him but he hasn't been named yet.

Hope everyone had a great holiday season RIP all of us needing to go back to work starting Tuesday.

Hi stranger, good to hear from you again.

Beautiful new boy you have there, but sorry to hear about Helios

I have a better picture that shows his true colors better Slap. And thank you for the condolences, he will be missed.

Wonderful coloration on him, nice pic.

Helios' Roman mythology counterpart was named Sol, maybe consider that?

But he has the black and grey hues in him which would signify more of a twilight. I would name him Selene but she was a Titan Goddess lol. He's not totally smoke hued or fog hued either. I do like the name Sol though...if there was a way to match his coloring. He's almost a little more like a Hades coloring.

The new betta's name will be Sephiroth due to his coloring (yes that SEPHIROTH...SEPHIROTH from FF7).

My friend Jennifer helped me settle on it.

Signature will be edited shortly. He looks like a HM with two to three mixed colors mixed in. Thoughts?

I'm sorry that you lost your Helios.

I did not know who Sephiroth might be, either.
It is nice that you've found a name for your new fish. With the help of your friend in selecting the name, it is sure to be good fortune.

Thank you Rivers. I think i may need to eventually invest in a better heater for my 10 gallon that doesn't require me adjusting it every six months so as not to overheat or freeze fishies

It's a normal ten gallon sized aquarium. current setting has it 75 when the lights are off and around 80 or so when the light's on
