A new loricariid from the Amazon. I'm not a big fan of this kind of fish but I know most everyone else loves them. So if you are interested here is a link for a short article about the newly described Aphanotorulus rubrocauda

I like plecos, but this isn't one I would go out to grab. Can see how it fits in a fast flowing stream though, its very elongated. Thank you for sharing that find.

It sort of reminds me of a long finned rubber lip color morph. The genus they placed it in has species that are medium sized to large so it's probably not suitable for most aquariums, that's if it ever legally makes it into the hobby.

Little too long in the face, lol. And the forked fins just make it look odd. I do like the rubber-lips though.

Yup, I read about fish and fish related stuff every chance I get through out the day. Gotta learn somehow.
