View Full Version : Tank mate Issues

Hey everyone,

I have a 3 gallon tank for my male betta fish and I am having troubles with finding a tank mate. The tank is heated with a filter and has a bamboo shoot.

I had put an ivory mystery snail in with him, and they lived together nicely for a little bit, but then I noticed this week that the snail was dead (the smell was horrid!)

I have read about possibly putting neons in the tank, would this work? Or are there other options that may fit better?

He looks lonely in the three gallon haha

Thanks ahead!

I think 3g is too small for anything else other than a snail or maybe a couple of shrimp. But I don't know how betas are with shrimp as I've never had one. Anything else you might want to add - like neons - would need a group of 6 or more and that number just would not fit in that size thank. While you may think he's lonely, he's probably thrilled to have his own space lol! Maybe add a little more décor for him to explore and keep busy.
