This plant belongs to the spurge family, which actually consists primarily of
desert plants. But over thousands of years Phyllanthus fluitans has
adapted to an entirely different environment. Like other floating plants it is
most suitable for open aquariums, where it develops beautiful red leaves at high
light intensities. If growth is good the plant needs thinning to prevent it
overshadowing plants on the bottom.
