Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cheap, effective.
Cons:
None, does the job it should.
Very cost effective. I stuff other filters with these as well. They can be easily cut and used for a variety of things. I use them to scrub tanks, as filter media in Hobs, and ive used them for small sponge filters as well. One of the cheaper foam inserts on the shelf, in spite of them being for one of the more expensive HOBs.

Limited sizes it comes in

Holds up well over time. Cleans up easy. Can cut a notch in it and put over the filter intake, to protect fry.

I use the stock sponges in some of the AC HOBs I run. I have had some running for years. Rinse when they get clogged up. No need to replace them. I have yet to have one fail on me. Really not much else to say. A great, easy, and cost-effective mechanical filtration media.

These are a great foam insert. Easy to clean by sqeezing out in a bucket of tank water. Can last upto a year or more before needing t be replaced. They can also be cut if you need a smaller piece or to seed another filter with benefical bacteria.

White seems to be the best color for this type of product. It allows you to easily see when the foam needs cleaning. This comes with the AC HOBs which is how I happen to be using it. At the same time I clean this foam, I dump out all the water from my HOB. There is always some waste sitting below the level of the foam and dumping eliminates it. I expect this foam to last for years.
