The Life-GLO T5 HO (High Output), 54 W aquarium bulb delivers a balanced, intense natural white light which closely mimics mid-day sunlight and is ideal for planted fresh water aquarium. This full-spectrum fluorescent bulb features a premium tri-phosphor formulation with a high CRI value for both accurate aquarium viewing and superb photosynthetic support of plants, corals and other invertebrates. Positive aspects of the product (pros):	good quality bulb
Cons:	a little pricey

I've used these bulbs on a few different low tech set-ups that had some low to mid lighting plants. They seam to work well and are aval from many different big box stores around. For these types plants (lower light easy plants), I got good growth without additional algae issues

Positive aspects of the product (pros):	good for low light plants
Cons:	expensive

These were some of the first bulbs i've used. The worked great for low light plants.
