I've had this heater for about a year now without any issues. When calibrating, the numbers on the heater aren't reliable but if you use the tank's thermometer, it's not that difficult to properly calibrate it. Once you do, you shouldn't have to think about it again. The indicator light is a big plus so you can know when it's actually on. And one of the biggest advantages is that it's FULLY submersible which many heaters aren't.

This heaters price was right but it died after three months. It was always inaccurate for the temp I wanted it to run for the entire time I had it.

Fully submersable

Cons:

A little off

I have 2 of these one in 20G and a 55G. I have had no major issues besides the numbers on the unit do not match the actual temp, but it is within a degree or two and is easily fixed by starting and letting it run and monitoring it at first to see where it is running. It is a safe buy. :)

Fully submersible

Cons:

looks unpleasing, tempature fluctuates

The affordable price of this heater makes it good for entry level applications. The fact that it is fully submersible is also a plus. The biggest con is that the temperature listed on the dial is never really what your gonna get. I bought and over sized one for my tank and in order to get my tank to 76 degrees i had to set the heater to almost 81.

No complaints until it died, good for a cheap, readily available, immediately needed heater.
