Positive aspects of the product (pros): LED to show when operational, easy to adjust
Cons: Not +/-1 degree of accuracy as advertised, rumors of exploding

This heater is sleek and good looking. The knob that adjusts the temperature also turns red when the heater is operational, and green when the temperature is at the set one. I am running 5 right now, and two have at least a 2+ degree difference between what is selected on the heater and what the temperature of the water actually is.

There are rumors of exploding heaters but Marineland states that they are just that, rumors.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Nice Led to see if it's heating and on
Cons: Unreliable

Bought two of these, A 75 and 300 watt. The 75 temp is way off, max temperature it will reach in a 10 gallon is 76 degrees.

The 300 is worse, Installed in a new 75 gallon tank setup and it heated the water from 55 to the set temperature of 78 degrees then refused to heat again. Turn the dial up to max and the led turns red for a moment then goes back green even when water is well below set temperature.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Sleek design, clear indicator, numerical temp reference
Cons: can only put the mounting cups within 3" of the head of the heater

I got this heater as part of a 75 gallon setup kit. I am in the process of fishless cycling the tank. This heater is placed vertically in the middle of the tank on the back wall. the termostat is located on the side front corner about 3" above the gravel line. I set the thermostat on 86, and its maintaining 85 degrees and has for almost a week.

The carbon fiber shell is sleek and oval shaped instead of round. I have issue with the instructions stating to place the suction mounts within 3" of the heater head as this does not allow for level horizontal mounting.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): nothing
Cons: unreliable

This heater does not work correctly. Either the temp will not climb to where it is set or it malfunctions causing temps to rise so much that fish are killed.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): nice looking
Cons: not reliable, doesn't work

I bought this heater without reading the reviews on it and was very disappointed. I had one a few years back that worked perfectly so I bought one for my new tank and after a few days my water was still at least 12 degrees cooler than it should have been. Im still not sure if Im going to take it back because I have to drive an hour to do so, or if I should just keep it for an emergency. Ill probably take it back. Do not buy this heater unless you enjoy watching your fish freeze to death. Or burn, like another reviewer had happen.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): It is non breakable
Cons: Rumors of exploding heaters plague this product

I have no had a problem and everyone I know in real life loves this product. Many people on here say otherwise though. It heats up everythign wonderfully and stays constant. I like the indicator light on it. PLUS, the lifetime guarantee is great!

This heater [All wattages] has been recalled. If you still have one discontinue its use immediately and contact marineland.

Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.

A warm beer is better than a cold beer. Because nothing is better than a cold beer, and a warm beer is better than nothing.
