I use the #2 polish (the number 1 is just a cleaner/clear coating, and the number 3 is more abrasive for deeper scratches, but it will grind down the acrylics thickness noticeably)
Just put a dab on the spots where the scratch is, and start making little circles. eventually you will be left with none of it visible on the tank, then buff it out and its crystal clear. I also use 600+grit wet sandpaper for the deep scratches, and it will leave the area very foggy, but the polish gets it right out.
One note, cleaning the side of the tank with anything wet will remove the polish a bit and give it the foggy look again. Just apply a dab of the polish and rub it in. I apply it to my tank probably once a year.
Have heard reports of people using it on the inside, but do that at your own risk.
