Positive aspects of the product (pros):
|
Inexpensive way to start, all products working well after months of use
|
Cons:
|
Quality could be higher on a few components
|
I don't really have too much to complain about with this starter kit!
The aquarium's silicone is a little messy in spots and the edges of the glass aren't perfectly smooth, but it doesn't leak and hasn't broken.
Everything else is still working just fine. No complaints really.
I suppose the generic biological starter pack was useless, I still had a long, hard cycle. And I'm leaving the TetraMin flakes unopened after reading some bad reviews.
It's an inexpensive way to get into the hobby, I'd recommend it. Get higher quality, more expensive components when these fail, but to start out it's all you need.

Ive seen this kit change little over the years, its a decent starting kit but is lacking in some areas and all said and done some may be better off buying the parts separate.
The tank is excellent. Never had any problems with small top fin tanks.

Has almost everything you need to get started

Not crazy about the filter media
|
We bought this tank when my son won a fish at the local fair. Not knowing anything about cycling the tank or beneficial bacteria, we ended up replacing the fish 3 times. Then we added 2 more. They had babies!!!! AHHHGGGG!
Great tank for the beginner, but read up on cycling. When you change the filter media, your throwing out all the goodness that's built up in it. Would recommend upgrading the filter to an AquaClear or something with better biological media.
