Great Starter
Cons:
Limits you to a small number of fish
A good starter tank, but if you realize (like I did) that you want to keep a variety of fish, or just more fish. You will soon be itching to upgrade to a bigger tank.

has everything but a heater, light fixture can take up to 3wpg
Cons:
no heater, filter isn't the best.
This tank is pretty good for what it is. The light fixture can take up to 15 watts per bulb so you can get some good lighting with it. The kit comes with 2 15w incandescent, so you might want to replace them with screw in fluorescent or the compact fluorescent bulbs if you really want to grow some plants. The kit is pretty good except for the filter. It tends to be very hard to restart after a power outage, and comes with very limited media. I would try to buy a better one if you have the money.
If you're just starting up I would recommend a bigger sized tank, like a 20 or a 30 gallon but if you want to get a 10g tank, this one is not too bad.
------------------------------ 30gL heavily planted: south american community tank
15g mod. planted: nano fish community tank
6g long(custom tank) mod planted: 6 bettas w/ dividers

killed all my fish in first 12hrs
It killed our 2 6mo goldfish in 1 night. Now I have a heartbroken 4yo and 6yo. The pump is way too strong for small fish, which is all I can really see putting in a tank so small. We woke up to find them both dead and suctioned to the water uptake tube.

Cons:

You ll realize thats it will be a little small.
I ve had no problems with the hood, lights, filter or glass so far, seems to be pretty good and cheap.
The only thing that its getting too small for my fish.
