Shih Tzu

The Shih Tzu is a Chinese dog breed that is believed to have been developed by crossing the Pekingese with the Tibetan Lhasa Apso. In China, its name means Lion Dog. Due to its appearance, it has been traditionally associated with the Snowlion. The breed has also been linked to the chrysanthemum flower and referred to as the Chrysanthemum dog, and in China it is sometimes called Xi Shi quan. Xi Shi was regarded as the most beautiful woman of ancient China. The Shih Tzu features a long and flowing double coat and its body is fairly sturdy. It is known to be a friendly and intelligent dog breed, with a lively attitude.
