Chihuahua Resources

The Chihuahua dog is famous for being the smallest dog breed in the world. It was discovered in the state of Chihuahua in Mexico in the mid 1800s and might be a descendant of Chinese hairless dogs that possibly crossed over to North America from northern Asia a long time ago. The Chihuahua has big prominent eyes, big erect ears, and a curious expression. The American Kennel Club recognizes two different coat types: long-coat and smooth-coat. Chihuahuas are not recommended for families with small children, since a child might involuntarily injure the small and fragile Chihuahua or seriously frighten it. A Chihuahua that is rough handled can bite to defend itself since it is very hard for this tiny dog to get out of the situation using any other method. There are a lot of resources available if you want to learn more about the Chihuahua and see if the smallest dog in the world is a good companion for you.
