Job at PetSmart

So after three interviews at Petsmart over the past couple weeks, it looks like I'll be starting soon I just need to take the drug test next week and then they'll start scheduling me. I was worried that they wouldn't even consider me with my education and current job, but they seemed very impressed with my knowledge in animal care (especially in the fish department). This will be a nice way to de-stress from my engineering job while hopefully helping other animal lovers take care of their pets. And what's really awesome is when during the interview, the store manager asked me if I've ever had an issue with a store policy before, and I told her no, but I may with one of Petmsart's policies since most encourage their employees to sell animals to people even if they won't be able to provide proper care; she immediately told me that she has no problem outright refusing a sale if that's the case . I'm pretty excited to get started because I kind of do miss working in sales and building relationships with customers along the way.

Congrats funkman! You know, I've been feeling the same way of late. I work in direct mail marketing, but I got my start in retail sales (EB Games assistant manager). It's funny how you miss something you used to complain about all the time. ;P

I would consider a General Manager position, but the hours/holidays are a problem. =/
