serpae tetras not eating

my 30 gal has 6 serpae and 8 colombian tetras along with a school of 6 cory cats, a pleco, 2 mystery snails and a DW gourami. this tank has been established and healthy for several months. water perims consistently 0/0/10 - 15 with 7.2 ph

I generally feed 2X a day and have fed Omega One natural protein formula flakes from day one. One day a week I feed frozen brine shrimp and 1 day a week I fast the tank. Also toss in an algae wafer or two every few days and always have fresh zucchini in the tank

for the past couple of weeks, however, I've noticed that my serpaes are not eating the flakes. they flit around as usual and just pass them by, showing no interest at all. they seem otherwise healthy and are active.
i should add that this is a very peaceful tank - no nipping or in fighting. I did toss a baby EBJD into the tank a few days ago but he is the least aggressive fish I've ever seen (which is why I put him in this tank so maybe he'd get over being so shy) and there is 0 aggression on his part.

So what do you think is up? and does anyone have any suggestions as to what to try to entice them to eat?

Don't know but fish don't eat as much once they get a bit older. Maybe they have mating on their mind. Maybe they don't care for the kind of food and another they may eat better. Who knows with fish, huh>

It is carnivorous, eating worms, crustaceans, insects and other fish. It can eat small/young platies when it is three inches long.

let's go with the mating theory - or even that they're tired of the same ole same ole. I'm wondering if they like the brine shrimp so much they're spoiled and turning up their noses at the flakes. lol

as for the JD - you're right a JD is carnorvous. this little guy is an Electric Blue JD. All my research has told me he's Omnivorous and not nearly as aggressive as the JD. Right now, he couldn't get a baby guppy in his mouth. LOL He's smaller than my smallest Colombian.
I had him in my 90 - not realizing when I put him there with the BP's and the Sev et all, how little he was in comparison. I could not get food to him there - even by target feeding - the others just ran over him and he wasn't (isn't) aggressive enough to fight for it. Also, I was overfeeding the tank trying to get food to him so something had to change.
So ... he's in the 30 temporarily until he grows out a bit then I'll put him back in the 90. If I can get him to grow out, that is. More reading tells me that it's difficult to get them raised up to the 3 - 4 inch mark. most die, no matter what before then. something about issues with their intestinal tract.
anyway - at least he's got a fighting chance in the 30. Sure hope he makes it because he's the sweetest fish ...
