    Quick update.

I got some new bits for my Dremel. Diamond coated. With these, I cut a few holes to permanently mount my LED moon lights. Soooo happy with the results!!!

I found out just how tight you can tighten these before the glass cracks :(

But you can't see the cracks with the hood on!

Sooner or later I am going to make an acrylic or plexiglass top that will ONLY have LED's in it. I've got to buy some more LED's and resistors before I do that. Gotta do the math to figure out how many I need for the .6 to .8 watts per gallon LED rule. It's gonna take a lot of them, but well worth it.

    And a full tank shot:

    Another update on the Aponogeton!

All of the progress in these pictures is over about a 3 day period. The last pic with the fish were taken a few minutes ago.

I love that I was able to get both my my Mollies in a decent picture!

    Thanks!^

The Aponogeton is getting down with it! I plan on propagating it pretty soon to spread it out a little. I would like to get a couple of Banana Plants in there, too. If anyone has any suggestions, PLEASE let me know!

    Here are some pictures:

Here's how it looks with the airstone turned off. I think I'm getting plenty of surface agitation with the flow rate increased until I can make a new spray bar.

I definitely want to get some higher Kelvin bulbs so I don't get that dull yellow look. It looks a ton better in person I must say.

    How am I doing?

The issue of cutting glass with a bit leaves behind a vast number of micro cracks - as you just found out, one cannot tighten anything thru those holes! It is possible to stress relieve the glass but most methods are beyond the average person. A mild water/acid solution for a few hours would help but again, hard for the average person. Better just to treat as a very delicate piece of glass ... .

Luckily the holes are in an inconspicuous place! Is there a better way to make small holes? I know to use a hole saw for larger holes. These LED holder have an OD of .305".
