Need Advice New to Shrimp
So I got the idea of starting a 5.5 gallon planted tank for some Red Cherry shrimp. I'm new to keeping shrimp and have been doing some research. I will be using my tap water and its parameters are PH: 7.4,Hardness total (ppm as CaCO3): 135 ;Hardness, total (grains per gallon): 7.9, TDS: 513 according to the city water report. Can I keep them in these parameters? I feel that my TDS are too high as i have seen online that its recommended to have it at around 200.

I think i would start buying my drinking water elsewhere :)
The EPA recommends a maximum level of 500ppm, but the greater concern is what are these Dissolved Solids ??
The only good way to lower this number is by replacing at least some of that water with a known clean source such as R/O.
Better than to post a long thingy here myself, read this article and consider a good filter for that water out of your tap even for your own use or consumption.
Thats all folks
