GT or Blue Acara? (I.D)
Just a question about the species, I am confused as to whether or not this is a GT or Blue Acara. I have a male in the tank that I know for sure is GT, but this fish has me confused. Any insight is appreciated. Also usually at night when fed vertical black lines become visible.

To me it look like a green terror. All my blues have had a rounder body at that age. But it is hard to tell and AEon might be right.
Do as I say. Not as I do.

Yea, its just been one of those things that I wonder about as I stare at them. Thanks for the input, I guess I'll wait a few more months to find out.

Ive kept a lot of wild caught acaras and I've seen lots of variation in body shape. Its quite possible it is a green terror though I have noticed that male GTs start to develop their nuchal hump at that stage.
Looking at it again though.. I think William is correct.
Here is one of my male acaras

My first impression was a GT but honestly it's like the OP said, as i stare my opinion changes.
EDIT: I had a 2 inch GT that had more orange than this and the lack of orange on the tailfin leads me to believe it's a blue.Last edited by Northerly; 10-27-2012 at 11:57 PM.
