  1. Default Other fish with tetras???

I currently have 6 cards and 6 rummy nose in my 55g aquarium. I got up this morning hoping that the bacterial bloom would have subsided indicating progress in the cycle. It was still very cloudy. I got home from work and noticed that In only 6 hours the tank is almost completely clear. Many people said that this would happen. Perfect! Judging by my chemical test I am close to fully cycled

I want to figure out what other fish I should add to this tank? Please include personal experience and your favourite fish that will adjust well with my current tetras. I will be adding fish slowly in the next 2 weeks. Thanks for all that take the time to share!

I would bump up the numbers of each school to 10+ so that your tetras feel safe and you could see more tetra behavior. You could go with a pair of angels, or other peaceful small-medium cichlid. Personally, I'd go with either a group of 6 rams or a harem of any apisto.

Like seb said you can at least double your current fish. You could get Harlaquin Rasbora 10-12 for the upper layer of your Tank. There are a couple of Dwarf Cichlids that are pretty hardy from the Laetacara familey, the dwarf flag cichlid and the dwarf red breasted cichlid, that make good tankmates. A Pearl Gourami gets about 4" and is one of the most peaceful of the Gourami's. For the bottom any spieces of Cory would be good as long as keep them in a bigger group, 8-10.

I have Peppered cories and Harlequin rasboras with Neons and they all get along fine.

    I would
    :
    1. Up the Cardinal and Rummy shoals to 15 each.
    2. Add a shoal of 10 Harlequin Rasboras, Black Neons or pencilfish.
    3. Add 8-10 Peppered or Bronze Cories.

Angels will eat the cardinals eventually.

In a month or so you can add bottom dwellers.

Rasboras would work fine, as would most other suggestions here.
20 gallon with a male betta, neons, glowlights, and red cherry shrimp. (work in progess) Recently added a few LIVE plants and driftwood, Woooohoooo!
