  1. Default Participation in Contests

I read and understand your rules about participation in the photography contests, but I would still like to see the entries while I am waiting for my 30 days and some rep.

Is it possible to view without voting?

You can enter a pic for next months comps before you can vote in the comps

    Comp rules below

If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

I dont think that answers my questions.

I wanted to see the pictures that were submitted without voting.

I also browsed the gallery and the last winners were posted back in 2010?

I just enjoy veiwing the photography and wondered if there was a way to see current submissions.

There are no submissions until the first of the month and then they are not able to be viewed until the 15th when the voting starts.

If you are talking about photos submitted now, no one can see them until voting begans in the next contest. Then the photos can be viewed by everyone.

Sometime in 2010 there was a change ove from using the Photo Gallery linked at left to a post within each competitions subform of the winning photos.

For example, in TOTM (Tank of the Month),

    2011 is here: http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/aqua...ad.php?t=73546

    2012 is here:
    http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/aqua...ad.php?t=86930

Once the submissions period has ended on the 15th, Cliff who is the current master of competitions ceremonies will post a new thread soliciting votes and showcasing the entries for that month. Prior to the end of the submission period, none of the submissions are viewable.

At the end of the voting period that thread is replaced with a new thread showcasing the winner and runners up photos, and those pictures are posted to the winners thread.

The winners thread for the prior month is depreciated out at the end of the month, when the new submissions thread is opened.

In that way there is only one active thread in each competition section which keeps things streamlined and a bit easier to manage for the mods.

Does that help answer your question?
