yellow cichlids

I have 2 aquariums both 60 gallons. I currently only have yellow cichlids in them. What other fish can I put with them?

I am not a cichlid expert but I am confident that you are going to need to provide more FAR more details [Pics even] about your stock before effective stocking suggestions can be offered.

Not sure what you're asking. I know nothing about fish! Was given several yellow african cichlids (live bearing). Must have liked their set-up because they just kept reproducing so I had to buy another 60 gallon tank. So now I would like a little more variety in the tanks so I was wondering what other kind of fish I could add.

It's impossible to offer stocking suggestions without knowing what is in the tank already due to compatibility/aggression/territorial issues.

If you post a picture someone can identify your current stock and then compatible species can be determined.

No suggestions can be offered until we know what you have and we have nothing to go on as of yet.

'Yellow' is not a species, Know what I mean?

Ahhh. I have electric yellow cichlids...labidochromis caeruleus. Does that help?

That's a good start. What about some detials about your tanks? Things like, size, filtration, and average nitrate readings

first of all your cichlids are mouth brooders not livebearers the female lays the eggs and the male fertalizez them and she pics them back up in her mouth until they hatch sorry about spelling.Second off because they have been the only cichlids in that tank you will have to move some things around cause those cichlids have already claimed that 60 gallon tank what that does is reset your inviroment and the other cichlds will have a chance.Other cichlids you could put with them is other mubana cichlids like
Copadichromis borleyi,Pseudotropheus Demasoni,Melanochromis auratus
Labeotropheus fuelleborni,Melanochromis johannii,Melanochromis parallelus
Melanochromis vermivorus,Pseudotropheus crabro,Pseudotropheus zebra
acei.But like i said before adding fish you have to move stuff around because mubana fish and other africans are aggressive fish hope this helps.I have a african /mubana tank to so I did alot of research on it already thats what its all about is research research research.Oh pics of the tanks would be nice.have you talked to your lfs to c if he would buy some of them from you sometimes they will.Oh how big r they because u dont want to go out and buy a 2inch fish then stick them in a tank with a 4or 5 inch fish because u want to keep something just as big so they could keep up with the aggresion of the yellow labs

The only other cichlids that I would put in with Yellow Labs (Electric yellows), especially when the tank is a 60g, would be Rusties and Aceis. That's the safest and easiest combination for smallish cichlid tanks and beginners.

Copadichromis borleyi, Pseudotropheus Demasoni, Melanochromis auratus
Labeotropheus fuelleborni, Melanochromis johannii, Melanochromis parallelus
Melanochromis vermivorus, Pseudotropheus crabro

All of the fish that were listed in the above post, except the Aceis, shouldn't be added to a 60g tank, with yellow labs in it, in my opinion. The species in red are all far to territorial and aggressive. The species in blue is a Hap and can grow to 7+ inches and really shouldn't go in a tank any smaller than a 75g, and shouldn't really be put in with mbuna unless the tank is much much larger than 75g.
