Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with a F8 Puffer. I'm about to house one in a 15 gallon that I'm slowly going to make brackish. I understand that they need to be fed snails and other "crunchy" foods to keep their teeth from overgrowing their mouths but how do you keep the snails? My LFS will probably just give me some but I don't want to have to go there daily in order to feed my puffer. Can I get a handful from m LFS and keep them frozen or in a small container. Maybe get a weeks worth and go back the next week and resupply? How do you keep up with their needs?

Set up a small 5 gal with lots of plants, light and algae with some live snails - snails will grow and overrun the tank.

Agree with Cermet on the snails. Have taken that approach myself and it worked well. However, 15 gallons is too small for puffers. These guys are extremely active (always on the move) and messy eaters so need something larger.
