Bronze Cory Quarentine

I was planing on getting about 6 albino bronze cories, and was wondering if in my quarentine tank i would need to have any kind of substraight, or decor. Can i just have a plain tank with water, filter, heater etc? Would a 5 gallon be big enough for a quarentine for the 6 corries?

for the set up of the QT, you need a heater, filter and water.
anything else runs the risk of contamination/extra cleaning after you are finished with the QT time frame. so there is no reason to add all that.

I think you are pushing it with that many cory's in a 5gallon. the footprint really isn't there for them to swim around.

+1 - I wouldn't put that many corys in a tank that size myself (that's the size of my QT too) even for quarantine purposes - 3 at most.

No substrate is needed but a small fake plant is nice for fish to hide behind - it's also good to cover the back/sides of the tank (I used spray paint).

As a matter of fact I like no substrate because then you can see that the fish are pooping daily and any leftover food that you would need to vacuum up right away.

Well, the ones my lfs has now, are babies at about an inch, and the rest I was just curious for a gt tank, they are going in a 20g later.

Fry will be fine in your 5.5g.
Adults would be crowding it, but better tight quarantine than no quarantine.
Keep the light dim or a lot dimmer than your community tank.
