Glad you're not finished - of course, is anyone ever really finished? Incredible growth from an 18w in a 20 (.9wpg). lol When plants have low-light requirements... it really means low light.

I'm considering removing the 36 watt 24" shoplight and replacing it with a 65 watt cfl floodlight. The unit I have in mind has a plastic cover at the front to prevent water damage and a built in concave reflector so Im hoping I could get more compact growth from my stem plants.

    I love the tank Aeon.

Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Smaug, you're here a lot just to say it's a waste of your time, poor baby, I bet you don't even know how big a loser you are, and how much we laugh at you and your foolish attempt to give your life meaning. Quit drinking, get a life, go take care of your family, grow up!

Another update. I removed the jungle val because it was obviously ridiculously large for this tank and blocking all the light. I don't remember what I was thinking planting it in there to begin with except "this tank could use something besides driftwood"

Replacing the val with the 6' long leaves is a red melon sword. I also added some HC, Ludwigia r, Anubias b nana and Anubias hastifolia. I'm not sure about the Anubias h, since I've read conflicting information regarding it's status as a true aquatic plant.

Joining the fish are 12 rcs.

    Looking good man.

I had a red mellon that did really well in a low tech 20, Since I moved it to the 55 it has been sorta meh. I flirt with setting the 20 back up at times...

That better light would surely shrink your internode length STAT.

    Keep us posted.

I replaced the broken ballast over the weekend so hopefully the stems should grow a little less leggy.
If not then I will get the new light.

    I live on the edge.
