Never heard of a shellie tank, will be looking this up! But I really like the look, your pic looked great, can't wait to see more. Sorry to hear about the cycle issue from Sandy, guess that's as good a reason as any to do a fishless cycle! No livestock lost.
Anyways, I'm following along now, best of luck getting it back up and going.
Cheers

Okay, re-started my cycle on Saturday evening, 11/10. First I checked ammonia and nitrite levels in the tank and they were at zero. I added 2ml of 10% ammo. Checked Yesterday (Sunday evening) and the ammo was gone and nitrites were through the roof! I guess the cycle only stalled due to Hurricane Sandy, amazing. Tonight I will test the ammo again, if it is zero again then I am back on track.( the levels are right around where they were before the power went and and the temp dipped.) I thought for sure that the 40 degree temp. of the tank would have killed the bacteria but this has never happened to me in my yrs keeping tanks either. lol This is an interesting experiment in my eyes.

Excellent! Can't wait to see them in. Believe me, you'll have hours of viewing pleasure. They're so interesting to watch - as they rescape your tank for you.
