Gold severum breeding
I was going to attempt to not necessarily breed and sell my severum, but just to introduce a mate into his tank and form a breeding pair. I realise that just putting a female in with him wont result in a mated pair. Does anyone have any advice/experience? Also I'm not sure where i would get a sexually mature female.
Finally reached 6 tanks... oh god, this addiction is getting serious. 75g mbuna tank, 65g gold severum, 55g OB peacock breeding colony, 30g(36x18) growout, 20 long Dwarf Alto's, 10g fry tank.
If I die young bury me in... An 8x2x2 with versa tops and a large sump for adequate filtration;)

If you put a female with the male, how will you prevent them from breeding?
I don't think talking to them about the birds and bees will work. LOLCycling With Fish?•• The Fishless Cycle••

Haha wait so they don't "choose" their mates? I always thought most SA/CA cichlids did. Could be wrong though, never really delved deeply into the subject.

Yes, they do. Probably more so if several are in the tank. How pickie can a guy be if there is only one female around?
My mind rushes back to this couple I saw last week in the grocery store. He was well dressed, very handsome and he had the ugliest woman in 300 counties with him. Why did your severum make me think of that!!!!!!!Cycling With Fish?•• The Fishless Cycle••

I love Severums so much.
I think my story was trying to say that if she is the only female around, he will think she's beautiful.Cycling With Fish?•• The Fishless Cycle••

Ah I see:p now comes the problem of finding a quality breeder on the east coast that's willing to ship.
