Just pick up a veggie clip and put it in the tank. Its like a clothespin/chip clip with a suction cup on it. Trust me, they will find they will find the food.

Well, duh. I've been sinking veggies by fastening them to a rock with a rubber band. It works but this will be better. I'm hoping I can use frozen leaf spinach?? And still wondering how to sink dill weed.

Another Duh moment. Unfortunately, we're pretty rural. fresh dill is not something I'll find in my local grocery store. But I'll find something.
How often do you feed high calcium foods? daily? weekly? Don't want to over dose them. thanks again.
And do you ever freeze spinach leaves to store and feed later? Or dry them? Figure you might have some little tricks.
thanks again.

Frozen works just as good IMO. Dried..probably not so much. Feed them just like you feed your fish. If anything is left, feed a little less next time. If they eat it all, try feeding a bit more. Take it out before it rots. Make sure though and give em plenty of time to find and eat it though.
Also, don't try and feed them cabbage. Just don't.
Kale is also a big hit. I wouldn't worry about overdoing it. Just play around with different foods and see what they like.Who is "General Failure" and why is he reading my hard drive?

Thanks again. I'll make sure I add some veggies other than the zucchini and cucs and squash. They also love watermelon. I've also regularly fed them Hikari Sinking wafers. It's billed as being ideal for bottom feeders and contains spirulina, silkworm and krill. Of course, I bought the product for my corys and pleco but the snails love them ... they also love the algae wafers but neither product indicates the calcium value.
just for fun - this morning I tossed in a couple of raisins as they were on the list. put them right in their paths. they walked right over them and went for the wafers. picky picky

snails and spinach
Stopping back to post that I just fed my snails some canned spinach. Oh my gosh. They glommed on to it like lumberjacks on pancakes. You could actually see them shoveling it into their mouths.
So ... the spinach was a big hit.

what is this?? his siphon?
Found both of my snails with this tube extended and am curious if anyone knows what it is. I've looked up anatomy drawings and suspect it might be its siphon? It extends from the head area. This was a first for me.

Yup, thats the siphon :). They extend it for several reasons, one is looking for easy access to the surface air, another may be as a sort of sensory organ.

Thanks! It's so cool to watch these guys. You can see how big they've grown when you compare this one to the Colombian tetra. That fish is about 2 inches. this snail is a little larger than a ping pong ball now.
