Okay guys... so its been a long while...
Had hurricane sandy which put me out of commission for 2 weeks, no fun. Moved the fish to my parents house since they had power and they are currently hanging out over there...
The tank is coming along... got the light, 216W of T5HO... pics will come soon. Promise. Been buried since mid November in school work and I'm finishing up finals week as we speak.
Tank stocking so far is a couple of oto cats and a tiny bristlenose pleco, cute fella I might add.

Good to see you back on the forum. Like mommie said sorry about any problems sandy gave you. We celebrated your birthday without you.

I would like to ask some questions about your drift wood.
What kind of tree is it? Is it OK to leave some bark on there or not?
Were the trees completely dead when you found them?
I ma very interested in scouting out some of my own driftwood, but have been scared to do so. Yours looks to have bark and those roots look fresh.
Let me know what you are using and if they turn out doing well!

Davis - if you do a thread search on the forum and search "driftwood" you'll find a lot of threads and posts that may answer all your questions. good luck.

Thanks everyone! Just finished today and I hope you had fun on my birthday! Buy a round on me hahah...
The driftwood I'm using I found myself, however it was all in a creek. I brought it home, scrubbed it thoroughly with a metal brush and then cooked it in hot water. I then left it to dry outside, washed it again and then it went in the tank. Keep in mind that I haven't had fish in the tank for two months but everything was set up... I got to monitor the driftwood for signs of anything bad: rot, parasites, sap etc
EDIT: I also took some pics of the setup on the other canister and there is a FTS for you all. A little lackluster, but I'm still in the process of getting everything set up. Some more plants are in the works as well as CO2.
