My BN came out to say hello!
How does he look?
he fins look a bit clamped which is odd? or is that how they are?
i'm by no means knowledgeable on pleco's yet to know their normal look/behavior-so all feedback is needed so I gain the proper education!
Thanks in advance!
that doesn't look like a bristlenose pleco. Are you sure you don't have a rubberlip?
300 gallon mega tank

70 gallon growout tank: clown loaches, sailfin pleco

It very well could be.
He came from Petco and they had it labeled as BN Pleco's....so it wouldn't be surprising if they messed up.
are they supposed to flare out their fins tho or does he look okay?
when plecos aren't moving about the tank that is how they look. He looks fine to me. All of the Pleco's I've ever had looked exactly like that when they were feeding/resting.
:) I agree with both posts. That look like a rubberlip to me, and my pleco always just lays around like that.
When he's eating, chasing a fish, or moving on to another area his fins are out and he can be quick, but mostly he lays around doing nothing.
They're like the cats of aquariums!
